Lol my neighbor's 2011 QX56 looks exactly like that. Same color too. What an interesting color.

Funny I just saw that giant whale thing parked next to an older RX 300 and could not believe the size. It is simply horrendous looking. The LX is no looker, rather bland but I don't find it ugly and offending. The QX is ridiculous looking with tack on feder vents. It simply is the Japanese Escalade if you like that sort of thing. Which is fine.

The QX has price going for it, size and acceleration with a nice interior. And it should, its a Nissan Petrol rebadge. The LX contrarily might share with the LandCruiser but is different inside and out with different suspension bits. Lexus put much more effort into it. The base prices of the two are vastly different. They are not as similar as you would think. Lexus would need to build a huge Sequoia based thing, call it the XL LX I mean the LX costs $18,000 more base price to base price. Egads. I do have to question some of the value in the LX, GX, the QX does offer this in spades to me. As a result the QX actually outsells the M37/56 some months. Its been a huge hit for the brand.

The LX has always known what it is, a Range Rover competitor. The QX is another confused Infiniti, was originally Pathfinder based, then Armada based, now Petrol based. That is completely unappealing to me. What will the next one be, Murano based?

I find it funny they find the time to take the vehicles to the drag strip, where they say themselves "oh they will never be here" yet they don't find the time to take them off-road, where people do take them. That is an LX selling point, it is simply with the RR and G-wagon the truest luxury 4x4 money can buy for off-roading.

The QX really is more of a GX competitor in regards to price. The LX is a class of its own with the Range Rover and G-wagon Mercedes.

I would be scared to drive the QX as the authorities might be called by people as it passes by "Free ***** has Escaped Again".

I haven't read it yet, but lemme guess, the QX won.

Looking at the QX dead on in the front, I think it looks ok. It's the rest of that awkward looking mammoth that I can stand. Specifically the rounded rump and those stupid ventiports. In this class of car, I'm a big fan of the MBZ GL, but I have very high hopes for the next Lincoln Navigator (either 6.2L V8 or the 3.5L ecoboost). For what it's worth the QX's interior is nice but of course so is the LX's. I'd be curious how the QX's reliability is this time around. The last gen was terrible

I have spent a couple of hours behind the wheel of the new QX ( family member works for corporate )and I have to say its an incredible machine. It drives amazingly well for a vehicle of its size, has awesome and advanced features and creature comforts, and is frankly less stale and stagnant than the aging LX. Looks are a subjective thing and I say it loos great

I think the LX looks right from the front, just a taller LS. But the rear hatch is where it gets weird.

seems like these guys like the QX a bunch. They rated as #2 best large SUV after the Escalade

These 6000 pound trucks are surprisingly quick in terms of acceleration, amazing.

I thought the same thing. Did a double take when I saw the numbers.

the QX is outselling the LX by a whopping margin, so it's obviously safe to say it's more popular right now.

Some serious modern V8's combined with 6/7 speed auto trannys deliver in both rigs. The so-so fuel economy is more the result of the incredible curb weight and massive frontal area.

Infiniti is the better buy and your not stuck paying off 20k more just cause it's a Lexus

The problem with the LX is that it's over-engineered (and therefore unnecessarily expensive) to be one of the most capable off-roaders in its class, but in reality very few luxury SUV buyers need or value that.
