As I said before, for people who think Toyota quality is down, just ask yourself how good are other cars :-). Apperantly, after 7.3 million technical inspections last year, TUV concluded quality is slipping on average and almost 20% of cars could not pass technical exam.

What checked the TUV? The overall objective is for each HU by more than 100 test points. The TÜV report is limited to the 18 most important. Front axle, rear axle, oil leaks, steering play, brake hoses - deficiencies in the evaluation is how well the respective cars cut.
How is the defect rate? Unfortunately, the number of cars with serious defects. Last year it was 17.6 percent. With a current 19.5 percent, it is returned to the level of the 80's. The reasons: First, check the TÜV stations modernized thanks to the purposes of the security detail. Second, in times of tight budgets often saved money in the car.
