Cool BMW 1 series M Coupe officially revealed (priced)

From 1addicts.com

* More muscular appearance than standard 1-series
* Trapezoid grille flanked by two intakes to allow extra brake cooling
* Six piston brakes
* High performance intercooler
* Sportier looking headlights than standard 1-series
* Small lip spoilers above brake duct inlets to provide extra air flow and downforce
* The front wings of the car are massaged slightly to accomodate the wider track. Rear end is also wider.
* Standard 18" 5-spoke wheels with optional 18" Competition wheels (18" will be the optimium wheel size for the M1)
* Signature M side vent
* Broader wheel arches to accomodate larger track
* "Ducktail" CSL style rear trunk (integrated spoiler)
* Rear valance/diffuser area takes its direction from the standard 135i but with open ducts for aerodynamic purpose
* Signature M quad exhaust pipes
* Reinforced carbon fiber roof

IMO the 1 series needed the M treatment badly - I think they look goofy in 135/128 form

Still looks goofy with those headlights. The biggest problem with the current 1 Series is the goofy headlight design, and that won't change until a full redesign.

I heard the 1er wasn't getting M treatment til next generation. Besides, we haven't seen any spy photos of it but we've already seen M5's racing around the ring..

There are tons of pics & spy vids of the next gen 1 series which will be on sale here in the states in 2012. This 1M is being created to warm things up before the next gen arrives. Sedan, coupe, vert, M, Z2 roadster..

^^Yes. This is not the M1 though.. This 1 series car will be called "1M" in the same breath as X5M, M roadster etc. Buckle your seat belt for more suprises from BMW..
