Audi R4 coupe sportback takes shape in pics
|
Hard to tell for sure, but it looks more hatch-ey than I was expecting.
|
^^ Agreed. Not what I was expecting. Maybe this is what they mean by sportback
|
Kudos to Audi for selling more coupes.
Hey Lexus you watching? |
so the R4 is gonna be a hatch (sportback) only? or is there gonna be a normal coupe too?

I think the R4 gets a flying buttress like the old MR2 or old 355 Ferrari
|
^^ that i don't mind :D
|
It is supposed to be mid engined so there is not much point of a hatchback design. The proportions look decent. I am hoping Audi does not price it too high or give it weakling underwhelming powerplants. The supercharged v6 from the S4 would be a great for a range topping powerplant for the R4.

Don't judge too much from this pic. Car manufacturers have been known to add on body parts to thow off the press. This car was said to be a coupe or a mini version of the R8.
My concern is how Audi will keep this from eating into TT sales. |
i don't like that profile shape.
but i'm not going to overlook this one yet. so far, audi has only failed on the A8 and droopybutt hunchback A7. I will still give them a chance. |
Anyone have an idea about the engine specs?
|
It will be interesting to see how this slots in with the TT, Boxster, and Cayman...I'm sure Porsche threw a fit over this car.
Am I the only one noticing how Audi's rear end is slowly morphing into Aston Martin's? |
