I have my Genesis, GREAT car
Took delivery of a 2011 Genesis Sedan recently. I traded in my 2003 ES300 on it. I must say I am completely impressed with this car. It makes my GS350 seem like a toy. The car has a very solid feel. The seats are far more comfortable and the trunk is absolutely huge. The electronics are superior to my GS as well. Nav, Backup camera, Electronic Brake hold, smart cruise cruise control. The interior is spacious. Makes the GS feel like a cheap compact. Lots of bang for the buck on this car!

I disagree with some of the things you have said about the Genesis...parts of the interior are actually kind of cheap including the "BMW" knock off **** in the center console. Also the ride feel does not seemed refined. By no means is it a bad car but comparing it to the GS350...well its not even a fair comparison. The Lexus is a far superior product not to mention the resale value on the Genesis is awful compared to the Lexus.

Congrats! Great choice!
What's that supposed to mean? I'll assume you're mocking it because it's a "Hyundai". Are you living in 1995?
In 50,000 miles, the car will be in the same shape and most likely free of any needed repairs. Why would he feel different?
I've been in 8 year old Elantra's with over 100K on them that are still in great shape. And that was before Hyundai's revolution. The Genesis is 100 times better built than that. You should ask him to come back at 200K and ask if he's happy.

Congrats on the new Genesis. I look forward to your feedback after a couple of thousand miles or so.
Of course (given the rapid pace of automotive advancements by most of the major automakers) I expect a brand new 2011 model to compare well with any 2003 car being both dated/used/worn. Although I see some of your comments are related to comparison to the 07 GS that you also have.
Post a couple pictures when you have a chance.
