I saw a man cleaning his ENTIRE car with a squeegee at a gas station. Not only did he ruin his paint by dragging all the dirt particles into the paint, he contaminated the soap solution and the squeegee by cleaning the BRAKE DUST of his wheels
I gave him a "thumb' down" and a nod of disapproval.

I assume the paint was shot already.

At least they didn't clean the pos with a flame thrower.

But to answer question, NO.

Interesting.. For the experts is it okay to use a squeegee to get the bird crap off your car, when you are filling up with gas at the gas station? This is something I do often, because I notice the bird crap( I really hate &*^% birds btw), and I know I won't completely wash the car for a day or two and just want the crap off the car now! Is this wrong?

Funny this topic was started, I saw this happen while on my surf trip in San Diego at a Shell station the other week.

The vehicle was not too old and the guy was cleaning his car's hood and fenders. My wife and I were like WTF?

don't do that. just buy some quick detailer and have a good microfiber in a ziplock in your trunk.

Quick detailer or a bottle of seltzer water (no flavor just plain carbonated water).

The carbonation helps dissolve any hardened bird droppings without harming the paint. Quick detailer you'll have to use moderate pressure to rub off the droppings.

That's amazing. In CA, it's very rare.

I have seen it in my own home state (Maryland); but also keep in mind that as a trucker I travel all over the place, so I get to see it all over the place.

ususally i use optimum no rinse in quick detailer mixture. no hard rubbing. it just lifts off with a light swipe and no scratches. love the stuff.
