Sony and Polyphony Digital have become a dynamic duo of boys crying wolf when it comes to the holy grail of driving simulators – Gran Turismo 5. We've been infuriated by repeated blown launch dates, faux teasers and rumored content so many times that we've nearly lost all interest in what was once one of our favorite ways to blow a few hours in front of a console. Nearly. Word has just come down from E3 that the game will launch on November 2, 2010, and that not only will it pack all of the standard tracks and cars we've come to expect, but the game will be playable in 3D. Get your paper spectacles, kids.

The news came along with a new trailer for the game, and the quick spot's got us crawling back like the kicked puppies we are. We'd be lying if we weren't placing our pre-orders as you read this. Does anyone know if the LFA will be on it? Most advertisements for it feature the MB SLS.

PD creator, Kazunori Yamauchi was interviewed a couple months back by Motor Trend, and he stated hes getting the LFA and the Honda Super GT car in the game. In the trailer at E3 I saw a Laborghini LP640 (murcielago) and Alfa Romeo 8C and a Maserati Gran Turismo. All cars that haven't been featured or seen before. Also there's a video on Youtube of day to night racing. Of course it was sped up to show how it transferred but the point is that they have an accurate time keeper, with the headlights turning on. Pure win for GT5

This is epic......and improve even further its reputation of being the BEST racing video game ever.

P.S.
Even xbox racing games like Forza Motorsport 3 and Project Gotham Racing 4 won't stand a chance against the might of GT5 mwahahahaha!

Here here I agree.

I do hope that they keep the promise that they made (in that GT5 will have AT LEAST 1000 CARS) and OVER 20 TRACK LOCATIONS.

If they do that, then it's damn pwnage (Forza 3 and PGR 4 will get pwned bad).

Hmm, 3D doesn't attract me at all. I am thinking massive headaches with blurry lines.

I have a feeling it will be delayed til 2011/2012 when the new car models will be out. I'm glad I got my Forza in the mean time.
