The X5, RX, LR4, FX, Cayenne, MDX...you know...just every other SUV that has been redesigned in the last 6 years .
The ML received a facelift as recently as 2009. Not one of the SUV's you've listed looks better than the ML imo and I have owned the two others highlighted.

You seem focused mainly on the styling which, IMO, is fine but nothing to write home about.
When you look at the ML for what it offers, how much it costs, and what it's capable of...it's no wonder that the only competitors it is outselling are older or niche vehicles:
I didn't take pics but I saw one at the big monthly car show here and it gave me wood. What an aggressive and good looking and RARE SUV. Utterly fantastic in person.
No suv in the world can touch this just like nothing can touch any other AMG out there, the S,E,C,CL,CLS,CLK yadda yadda yadda. My buddy has a 2001 clk55 with 100k miles and that car is ridiculous, sounds like a Huyabusa and feels faster than a twin turbo 5.0 mustang with 900 horsepower i have been in.

^^ Got me beat there loll. Those x5m's are nice but the AMG looks a little better in my opinion. I like the new mercedes designs and their clean cut lines.
