You threw me for a loop for a second there, Cj. By the thread title, I thought, at first, that you were posting that Ford was actually introducing a Taurus coupe, which would be highly unlikely. Almost all of the larger, non-ponycar American coupes (Eldorado, Monte Carlo, Mark VII, Riviera, Cougar, Thunderbird, etc....) have pretty much fallen by the wayside......even the classic Dodge Charger is now a 4-door.
But, to answer your question, yes, there are some simliarities between the Accord Coupe and what a Taurus coupe MIGHT have looked like. And the Accord EX-L coupe, in my experience, is an excellent-driving car....I was quite pleased with the one I reviewed.
