Yup loved the article too! My first car was an 86 Integra For years I wanted the GS-R I think it was, or of course the type R. I settled with a 1992 Prelude then later on a 1997 Prelude. All of which had incredible handling and an awesome 5sp manual tranny.....ahh the joys

Its sad cars like these have disappeared.....and lets not get me started on honda lately

What a fantastic trip down memory lane, thanks so much for posting it!

I specifically remember the shifter in the car was (and apparently still is) an absolutely delight to use and was then very memorable to my 85 Prelude Si Also what was very un-Prelude-like was that all Integra's (esp the Type R) required you to rev the "snot" out of them to have any fun, but man when you did IT WAS FUN!!

Thanks for the article!

It does bring back good memory. I had it for five years loved every moment I got behind the wheel. It is simply one of the best fwd cars ever built. I truely miss it.

I don't think their opinion would be any different if it was the RSX vs ITR

Perhaps, but I would wager a guess that the overall conclusion would be more or less the same. I remember thinking how bloated the original RSX looked when it first came out in 2002.

That's a great article!! It definitely brings back memories, although I only had a GS-R. Reading this definitely makes you realize how much electronics and gadgets modern cars have and how much heavier they are nowadays.

man, that was my college dream car. it was a helluva ride. has a better interior material too.

i had 07 civic si sedan briefly. didn't like it at all. it just wasn't an engaging ride. that was the biggest mistake i've ever made.

My friend had a yellow ITR. Sadly it was stolen.

I remember riding with him when he was entering a 270-degree on-ramp. It behaved better than most RWD cars out there. In fact, one would think they're in a RWD car. The chassis is that damn good.

Very well written article, I enjoyed reading it. The only gripe I have about this Type R is it doesn't have the JDM rectangular headlights. Championship white is just stunning. It is time for Honda to bring over the European CTR to the States.
