well the thing is, telling more can be another whole can of worm, coz' some people would agree and but some will disagree and whole bunch of other stuff coming. so might as well just wait for the more final words to come out.

but at least to me, with the lfa, it makes sense for lexus to have something in the 100k scale

2014... Lexus won't be using the 600h anymore it be something completely different.

Lexus might actually use the 5.0L for the basic non hybrid model (LS)... but change the hybrid model with something a tad different... call it like the LS640h or something.

I wanted the SC430 so bad, but the fact that it has no aux in, no cooled seats, doesn't play mp3's, and the 90ies style external antenna - i just couldn't do it. If they would just modernize this car a little bit, it would sell a lot better.

I assume it made A TON of money for Toyota. It was based off the 2GS priced at 65k plus with minimal upgrades over the years.

Like you I've looked, my interest is in the models with the red leather seats. Would make a nice cruiser but it would needs mods ASAP

I wouldn't mind an SC600h or similar flagship hybrid system, but if it's anything close to the dimensions of the current SC, it'll have less storage space than the LFA...

I think that Lexus is more likely to bring the SC450h (or whatever midrange hybrid platform they are using in 2014) to market, unless they really go all out with the SC and make it a flagship 2 door. Certainly an SC F would be fantastic as long as they can keep the weight down.

To be honest though, as much as I like the Lexus product, I think if I got a convertible I'd look elsewhere.

I have one of these that I will be getting out of soon. Going to trade in on something else, most likely on the Ulitmate Driving Machine.

Honestly, it is a nice car and all but there are so many better cars out there for less money. Not too thrilled with the moderate cowl shake. The interior is nice but it is dated.

Well if you put 10 cubic ft of batteries in the SC you pretty much have no storage space whatsoever lol

I honestly doubt that the next SC will be hybrid. A hybrid convertible would be one of the most compromised cars ever.

They just need to freshen up the styling, update the interior, and drop a 5.0L V8 in it and charge $70K. It's that easy. At this point I don't care if they drop the back seat or not. They just need a sexy tier one convertible in the lineup pronto

The emphasis was on the flagship part. My point was just that the SC would have to take a position more akin to the LS to "deserve" a flagship-level hybrid platform.

Yeah, that was the irony I was getting at. I doubt it would actually have as little storage space as the LFA, but excepting the use of rear seats for storage, the SC has a very limited trunk as it is due to the trunk room allocated to the hard top when folded down. After the batteries go in, there wouldn't be much space at all.

I agree. To me, the SC 2nd gen was the first "different" Lexus, which took the styling in a different direction and IMO changed some minds about the brand. I can't tell you how many times an SC went by or was parked and some other pedestrian passing by would just go, "Wow, check out that Lexus!". The performance was no slouch either when it was released in 2001. I considered getting one for a long time but I liked the LS430 too much. It's definitely a model that needs to stick around, whether in its current level or as a flagship-type model.
