"Okay" doesn't really describe this car.......it is a unique combination of good and bad. And it is definitely NOT an "Okay" price tag.

mmarshall -- thank you very much for this detailed review!

I will say the engine and torque are quite intriguing with this car. Although when its all said and done I think this is one of those cars that answers a question that no one asked. Now the question is since its here will it sell? I guess time will tell that one for us.

Based on your review I say this a perfect summation!! Would be a great ad for BMW if we just use the first sentence

Thanks again for the holiday gift, and a very happy and healthy holiday to you!

Sure. Anytime ...though I'm going to take a little break in reviews for some weeks. I next plan to do the Suzuki Kizashi when it arrives in this area in January, though I might (?) have another surprise before that, later in December.

I will say the engine and torque are quite intriguing with this car.
It's basically the 7-series' turbo 4.4L V8....but that 450 ft-lbs of torque is some grunt, even with the almost-5000-lb curb weight.

Thanks, but BMW already uses that ad....they don't need to borrow anything from me.

Same to you.

That ad/brochure was a COMPLETE turn off.

Love that quote, I hope BMW doesn't use it in their next ad, because it's not very convincing.

I thought it was a condom ad. But seriously, not very impressive ad unless they are trying to divert attention from the ugly vehicle.

outside is a unique combination of bland and ugly.
inside is typical bmw, nice, sporty, but not beautiful.

rofl mike - you mean you're not a trendy wealthy pretentious urban guy who wants a powerful non-awd station wagon to drive at 20mph in traffic?

Nice review, mmarshall; thanks again for your efforts!

That being said, I hate this car.

Once again, BMW has answered a question that nobody is asking. When is the last time you saw an X6 on the road?

Sure. Anytime.

Since I had requests for both the 550 and 750-series, I thought this would be an interesting car to do, since it combimed elements of both.

That being said, I hate this car.
Have you seen and driven it in person? Except for the awkward-looking rear rnd, it's a classy, sophisticated product. I agree with you, though, on some of the controls....like on other upper-level BMW's, they suck.

I think this will appeal to a somewhat different group of buyers than the tiny number going after the X6.

I also think it will outsell the X6, though perhaps not by much; so does IS=SV. Mike (1SICKLEX) doesn't.
