GOTO racing R35 racing video
High quality video of the GOTO racing R35.

Amazing acceleration on the straights, but some understeer in the corners.
I'm sure that with some more development time, it will get better (and I'm sure that the tire blowout and body damage didn't help either).
I think the lead car is the FXMD NSX.. another amazing car.
Enjoy and cheers,

You can see Billy Johnson in his FXMD 700+hp turbo NSX pulling away in the end. And that's after replacing the transmission with a stock transmission, with stock gear ratios and no LSD.
That's 5 overall victories and 5 track records in 5 races entered this year. The kid is fast!
Here's his thread on Prime, with a lot of great pics: http://www.nsxprime.com/forums/showthread.php?t=130023

This was GOTO team's GTR's first Red Line time attack event. Second place speaks volume.
Apparently, the car had suspension issues, rear diff. was locking up, they had tire issues. They had very limited time to prepare the car, in fact, they finished the car after arriving at the track, so some bugs still needed to be worked up. And the NSX had major weight advantage, its a 1000 LBS lighter. Nonetheless, a podium finish for a car to finish at its very first even is quite an accomplishment.
Congrats GOTO team.

Yeah, both cars had some major issues before and during the race.
The GT-R has some major potential and I'm sure that in the coming years we will see some major developments.
From a racing standpoint, I wonder if RWD carries inherent advantages for balance and overall weight reduction vs the "drive out of the corners" theoretical advantages of an AWD car.
Both are amazing vehicles and both teams had to overcome some major adversity to compete at a high level.
I am still blown away at the potential of the 19 yo NSX. As it becomes more accessible to tuners and racing, it appears to be getting better with age.
Ayrton Senna would be proud.
Cheers,
