Low to mid 30s for a FWD, 4 cylinder car with 220hp?

Pass, even if it is pretty.

Well the Insignia fights the Euro Accord and others in that class in Europe. So Regal vs TSX is the fight here and people buy a 201hp FWD I-4 TSX with no issues.

Doesn't the LaCrosse start below 30K? If so that seems a little close for comfort, but I could be wrong on my numbers.

Yes 28k for the 4 cylinder. Could Buick be using the Lexus strategy of cars in the same price points aimed at different buyers? Seems so.

Regal vs. Sonata spec by spec.

http://blogs.insideline.com/straight...the-specs.html

Sonata totally destroys Regal and it's about 7grand cheaper.
bigger, lighter, more horses, more torque, and better warranty. i know looks are subjective thing, but sonata looks VERY ATTRACTIVE in person especially comparing to the competition.

i know Buick is a Lexus wannabe, but they are not Lexus. they are not a luxury brand. at least not yet. i think this is an ultimate fail if you ask me.

and i don't care what buick thinks this is, this is a midsize family sedan. it goes against sonata, altima, camry, and accord.

Same could be said of the Acura TSX...

But if I were you I'd hold the harsh judgement until you sit in one. I'm sure the interior quality will be impressive. Hopefully at the same level as a Passat (which is also a pricey but very well built family sedan).

The Sonata on paper shakes things up...I mean heated rear seats and a Lexus like power/tilt telescoping steering wheel. WTF?

Still looks matter and the Regal GS looks great.

Acura is a luxury brand even though they are becoming a toilet of car industry. Buick isn't.

and it's a camcord fighter in the U.S. that's what normal people would think.

i really don't think people will buy this just because it looks better. i don't think it looks that much better than sonata. i personally like sonata's new look better than Regal.

The Malibu fights the Camcord, so Buick has room to move upmarket. It's not like GM won't have an affordable competitive midsize sedan in it's arsenal to fight the Sonata, and the Accord/Camry.

Looks are subjective, and I like the Regal's rear end better. The Sonata's trunkless 4 door Coupe look doesn't appeal to me. The Regal look much statelier and European. I admit I like the VW CC, MB CLS, and Aston Rapide,
but the Sonata seems forced and unnatural.

No manual = no care.

And if the AWD GS is going to be $35K (which it looks like it will be)...oh, hello STi...
