I like everything.... except.... triple exhaust and exposed tail lamps up top.

With only 500 units planned for the LF-A you have better chance getting the Ferrari which not only looks so much better but probably has similar performance.

If they're going to keep the LF-A at that ridiculous price then they should go back to the drawing board and redesign the thing. Otherwise make more and offer them at a lower price

That's your opinion. What's your problem anyway? Are you here just to ridicule?

Why why why do people keep comparing this car to the LF-A? The LF-A will NOT compete with this car.

The LF-A is designed to compete with cars such as the Enzo, Carrera GT, Pagani Zonda F, Lamborghini Murciélago LP640, Benz SLR, and 599 GTB.

Plus, we don't know the exact specs for the LFA yet. It's top speed though is supposed to be much higher than the 458, which would already put the LF-A in a different performance class than this 458.

As for the 458, I'm sorry but that front end is hideous. I don't know why this car is getting a pass from enthusiasts. Is it just because it's a Ferrari? Those HUGE stretched headlights look silly and out of proportion. Also did nobody else notice the rear tires are higher profile than the front tires? The rear is the best part of the car I think, except for the exhaust which looks strange with 3 pipes arranged horizontally.

Also who cares if this 458 lapped faster than an Enzo or F430 Scuderia at Fiorano? That is a short, twisty track. The Enzo still remains the fastest Ferrari to lap the Nurburgring, and the LF-A production car is rumoured to be faster than the Enzo on the 'Ring.

I will admit the 458's engine specs sound awesome, but hearing the engine on Ferrari's website is dissapointing. For a 9000 RPM V8, the engine sound and exhaust sound are quite bland and not as sporty as they should be.

On that note, 9000 RPM V10 > 9000 RPM V8.

LF-A should be competing with 599 GTB than an ENZO.

Toyota used the Benz SLR, Carrera GT and Ferrari Enzo as performance benchmarks during the development of the LF-A.

Even if it's competing with the 599 GTB, the 599 is in a different class than the 458. Whatever the case is, the LFA is NOT competing with the 458, even if the two cars may seem similar in some ways.

that's the price of a V10 R8, and the R8 has more presence, status, and appeal.

fix it up like daaaaamn:
Not as much road presence as you think.

I was out for a walk around my area one day and two R8s drove by (ppl had obviously just picked them up) & yea I turned to look but not because it was like *wow*. In any event I remember thinking 'well that was anti-climactic'.

They photograph well, but in person on the road is very meh.

As for the Ferrari, all I can say is I hope the LF-A comes in with a lower price tag or it will have a hard time beating the 458.

A 599 is HUGE compared to the LF-A. This is also Ferrari's entry level car but it seems to be quite kickass.

You know what Fay, I think the R8 looks horrible in pictures but pretty good in person. They've got a great stance, so you know it's something fast even from far away. But yeah, it's more of an understated supercar, if there is such a thing.

M-F R8. Weekend 458.

I was just watching the Top Gear Muscle Car Challenge, where Jeremy Clarkson lauds the Corvette for its traditional manual, none of these "flappy paddles" that still exert control over the vehicle. I want to shift into the gear I want, when I want. This dual clutch technology is cool, but I guess not for me.
