The European fanboys here should follow their lead...

I see a lot of the cars are VWs by the way.

I know the Europeans have a rep for being "out there" with some of their trends, but I just don't see this one catching on over here at all. Looks like some of the "rusted" hoods are a faux finish and others look as if they are deliberately rusted and then treated to prevent spreading. Can't say I like it at all.

BTW,, the last pic(BMW) was just PAINFUL to look at.

uhm, few cars above are from US, so its catching on already - BROKESTATUS VW has MA plates , other is Vermont plates and the BMW - Tennesse. And I have my bet that the beemer is Vynil'ed out, but those BBS are hella sexy.

Think European diesel usage and the lack of emission controls paired with cooler weather, and you've got yourself some auto-induced acid rain...

If this is what's caused by acid rain, what would chocolate rain do to these cars?

If this is a trend I want nothing to do with it. Keep your rusty cars away from mine, I don't want your infectious rust getting on my car.

This is going to be one of those trends people look back at in 20 years and just laugh. So ridiculous. I've seen this before though... it started with the VW community (as you can tell by observing the majority brand in those pics). They also love to put bike racks or similar roof racks on their roofs with bikes or whatever else attached even if they don't actually use them... it's a visual accessory.

It's like Derelict from Zoolander. I just don't get it. I can buy a junked car and join in on the fun easily without having to de-modify my clean new car.
