Ok, I need to know what car manufactures have service reminders in their cars similar to what we (Lexus) have?

I know that a number of BMW and Mercedes products do....I don't remember all of the exact ones (some of them don't even have oil dipsticks any more). But, for oil changes, I don't trust those computerized "monitors". They have allowed some engines to get gelled and sludged up.....some engines have even had to be replaced under warranty. I'm a firm believer in 3-5 month/3000-5000 mile oil changes, depending on driving conditions. That way, you're generally safe....especially with synthetic oil.

All BMW models have the onboard service reminder. It comes in handy for those who have no idea regarding the condition of the brake pads.

I know until 2005 Infiniti had warnings through the NAV screen, not sure about non-NAV cars now, perhaps they have it in the dash as well...?

How long ago would you say these systems were implemented and became more common?

Our 06 sienna le (no nav) has an ancient "MAINTENANCE REQUIRED" light (oil change) that comes on every 3000miles(?).
MB has the Service A, B, C reminder-01S500. After that you gotta look it up or ask the dealer what is required of that.

05GX and LS has the break down menu through the nav. I think those you can manually set.

99 GS (no nav) - nada.
