I've seen one on the freeway here in So.Cal a few months ago. Looks different from anything out there. Really bulbous from most angles. This is what the CRZ should have been.

At 40MPG, why would you even think about a CRZ? Poor Honda getting schooled by Hyundai again.

Here in Canada the only option is the $1400 for the paddle shifters and $3500 for the tech pack. So with all the options the car comes up to C$23,899. With the taxes and destination bs, the car comes up to around C$29,156.78. What is interesting that the automatic gear box you lose 0.5 mpg.

Plus Hyundai Canada has yet to email me back the date when models will show up in showrooms and I emailed a few dealers none got back to me. Now I need to go to one near my work and ask.

I can't recall any vehicle that gets better or even the same gas mileage in an auto as manual... there is less drivetrain power loss in a manual transmission than an auto (in general), so the auto gets poorer rated fuel mileage

This was only true years ago. A majority of today's automatics actually get better mileage than their manual counterparts (if offered).

it is still true today, though not as much as it used to be... part of the older problem was the fact that most autos were 4 speed and manuals had 5 or 6 forward gears... today, most autos are equivalent in gears to their manual counterpart, but, autos are still less efficient at transferring the power - the amount of influence this has on the fuel economy obviously varies from car to car, but, aside from the Hyundai talked about here,there are a few others as well - it would appear they are quite close, but a few of the cars I've seen with autos that are as efficient or better than the manual trans version are actually essentially computer controlled manual transmissions with clutches and all...

well it is a lot like hatchback elantra, it has Hyundai's standard 1.6l GDI engine... you would think they would make it more responsive as it is supposed to be sporty (and deal with the loss of few MPG)

If someone adds in another turbo to the Veloster and gets it to like 278 hp, it probably be able to do 0-62 in like 4.8 seconds. That 4.8 seconds would put it in like Porsche 911 Carrera territory Something like that would hurt the 32 mpg (combined), but not sure by how much though. It be interesting to see if they will sell some of the rally parts for the road going version.
