AS long as they build a suspension to match the power, it's all good.
Maybe then the GS line will get more respect in the enthusiast world.

They might as well do the LSF too. Why not? Benz does AMG on every model. Even the SUV.

I'm assuming 500+ means 600 horses, because thats what it will need by the time it comes out to compete with the RS6, M5, Eclass AMG.

And a LS-F in many ways does make sense too. If people buy these cars (like Lexus is claiming with the IS-F) more cars with the V10 engine would only lower the cost of producing that engine. It could lower the price of the LF-A dramatically if they ever decide to make it (its baffling to me why they would make such a great looking sport car and not want to sell it)

The story that ren495 posted to start this thread is actually a rehash of this one, from Autoblog:

Lexus F range could expand to include LS F
by Damon Lavrinc

Lexus may be throttling back its plans to attack the performance side of its German rivals, but that doesn't mean it won't expand its F-badged lineup in the future. Hirokazu Koga, general manager of the Lexus Development Center and one of the men behind the IS F, told Autoblog that if the automaker goes forward with plans to create a GS F, an LS F could be in the cards.

Renderings and rumors of the GS F have been circulating since last year, but word came down in August that Lexus planned to delay the introduction of the 500+ hp sedan due to the economic downturn and the (then) high price of fuel. Add that to the possible cancellation of the LF-A, and things aren't looking good for Lexus' foray into the world of high performance.

If an LS F model would come to market, only a few drivetrains could be fitted to the hulking sedan to give it the level of performance necessary to carry the F badge. If Toyota does decide to build the LF-A, its V10 powerplant would be a great candidate for the LS F to provide motivation and defer some of the costs of the supercar.

According to two Lexus execs we spoke to, the IS F outsold both the Mercedes-Benz C63 and BMW M3 Sedan last month (we can't confirm, since Lexus doesn't break down sales of the IS by model), but if consumers are accepting the idea of a high-performance Lexus, than other models will surely follow.

I hope they'll make it more easy to tune... like E55 for example.

well if theres one thing we learned from the IS-F...lexus has got to do this right, the second time

mains complaints with the IS-F (not mine, but auto enthusiasts)
1) tacky looks
2) too stiff suspension that shoul still glide over bumps
3) limited slip diff

The limited slip I'll give you.

But the other two comments tend to be more subjective...and made more by people that don't own or haven't driven the car. I have more strangers comment on how good the car looks than I ever imagined. Lots of thumbs up and I have yet to see any of these two points made by an IS F owner.

I would rather see the LF-A on the roads.

High price of fuel? No longer true

I never believe there will be a GS-F for the 3GS anyway, so by the time the 4GS comes, it will be 2012, & the economy should have recovered enough by then, Toyota should be planning long term to be ready to launch a 4GS-F by then.
The car that I really want to see go into production is the LF-A, but they might as well use different versions of the V10 in the GS-F, etc., to spread the cost of development.
