It definitely needs the wing. I think that would really offset the ugly. It's the rear that I hate.

That is the mother of all design disaters. That thing looks worse than that pontiac Aztec. I think I just threw up in my mouth a little. I can see the rich in LA trying to be bad *** in one of these with wheels and a drop. I think I would laugh

From the latest issue of Autocar that I received comes the following mini update.

Inside story: Porsche Panamera
24 November 2008

These are the first official pictures of the new Porsche Panamera, which will be going on sale next year. The car will make its official debut at the Geneva show next March, and although official prices have yet to be released, we believe that the range will start below £50,000 – stretching to nearly £100,000 for the fastest version.

Porsche says that the car has been designed to accommodate ‘four big people and their luggage’. The Panamera’s proportions will help to distinguish it from rival top-end saloons; it’s considerably lower and wider than rivals like the Mercedes CLS and Maserati Quattroporte, yet also lighter and shorter.

The top-spec 500bhp Panamera V8 Turbo 4x4 offers an ungoverned 200mph top speed, with acceleration in 911 territory. From launch, Porsche will also offer a petrol-electric hybrid with fuel economy and CO2 emissions not so different from a 2.0-litre Ford Mondeo’s.

Porsche plans to build 20,000 Panameras a year, delivered from a final-assembly plant in Leipzig.

Now at current exchange rates, 50k pounds works out to less than $70K while the top uber turbo Panamera would be under $150K. The entry level price would be for the 300hp V6 and presumably the next step up would be the hybrid, although I guess the NA V8 could be the next step up in price. If it gets here anywhere close to those prices with the hybrid out the door for maybe significantly under 100K, then it wil more than likely be my next car.

I don't know about the rest of you but the huge variation of pricing on the Panamera (factor of 2X?) leads me to believe that none of these super sleuths has a clue of what it is going to be priced at.
