It looks ok, although I'm sure these are just renderings. A 5.5L V10 with 560hp sounds very appealing. :D

FWIW I kinda hope they don't call their next supercar the NSX, Not that there is anything wrong with a front engine rear drive GT, but to me a NSX will always be a mid-engined exotic. I think they need to find a new name for the new car.

Under the skin of all-new NSX

Supercar gets V10 as it targets Ferrari and Aston.

By Peter Lyon18th November 2008

Check out the nuts and bolts of what will make the replacement for the Honda NSX special!

Set to reach showrooms late next year, the new supercar will be as technologically advanced as the Nissan GT-R. It will target big-name rivals such as the Ferrari F430, Aston Martin V8 Vantage and Porsche 911 GT3.

Where its predecessor had a mere 280bhp from its 3.0-litre V6 engine, the new model features a 5.5-litre V10 delivering 560bhp. This increased power is transferred via a six-speed semi-auto box, with steering wheel-mounted paddleshifters.

As a result, the car should cover 0-60mph in less than four seconds and hit a near-200mph top speed. Honda’s Super-Handling All-Wheel Drive (SH-AWD) system promises amazing grip, while huge brakes complete the package. Inside is a luxury two-seater cabin, with soft leather throughout. A price of around £100,000 is likely.

looks sexy

I read that the project was on hold with the current economic climate and that a V-6 was more likely.

Test results for the V-10 around nurburgring were 7:37 to the GT-R's 7:29 (athough the GT-R was rumored to be modified).

Gah I hate the Nurburgring Marketing Scheme.

Just because one car is faster on that track doesn't mean it's going to be faster on a different track. Oh well, let the Nurburgring sackrider fall for this one..

3. 911 GT-2 (40.29)
4. GT-R (40-63)
5. Audi R8 (41.12)

Streets of Willow
1. Gallardo LP560-4 (68.45)
2. Viper SRT10 ACR (68.56)
3. GT-R (68.90)
4. 911 GT2 (68.90)
5. Audi R8 (70.66)

Willow Springs
1. Viper SRT10 ACR (90.10)
2. GT-R (91.23)
3. Gallardo LP560-4 (91.32)
4. Audi R8 (93.20)

Looks like a suped up CRX. This is NOT a NSX.

rosskoss 11-18-08 07:08 PM

That looks like crap!

It may have looked good in 1985 or even 1990 but now it looks totally dated.

Terrible, terrible design. Bland, boring, vague, derivative, dated and devoid of any distinguishing features. You want good design - look to Europe or America. (now that the domestics have shifted power from the beancounters to the engineers and designers)

RX7 RAGE 11-18-08 07:24 PM

definitely an ugly car

bbyxmishIS 11-18-08 07:36 PM

i agree... it looks okay.. but the whole idea of the NSX seems to be lost! dang.. more and more cars seem to be ripping off their designs now from BMWs and BENZ. all cars are starting to look alike.. like the new accord and maximas... and corollas.. they're all starting to look the same.

These are just artist impression based on a camoe'd test car and are not the real thing. I think the impressions for the most part look pretty good but it certainly does not look as sexy and exotic as the NSX but it definitely looks nicer then most sports cars/coupes out there. It is the NSX "replacement" for now meaning a new Acura high performance sports car and not the new NSX which could only be mid engined so I seriously doubt it will be called the NSX as it is a new direction but same general type of car. I am excited about this car but I hope it does not keep getting delayed further and further for Nuremberg bragging rights and Acura starts with this it is not the right time to release or the economy not good or ready BS because it is never going to be the perfect time to release a high dollar sports car that few people can afford. If the car is good enough and evokes enough passion people with the money are going to buy no matter how the economy is doing and Acura needs a car like this in their lineup even if it does not sell in big numbers.

GSteg 11-19-08 01:42 AM

Time will tell if Acura will pull a Lexus on this one..you know...indefinite delay of the LF-A :D
