Reliability: Some Have It and Some Don't

One thing that has always impressed me (and the rest of the world) is the almost flawless reliability of Lexus. On the other hand, I marvel at how good Land Rover is at consistently ranking at the bottom of the list in this same category.

Why don't companies like Land Rover copy the same techniques as Lexus to improve reliability?

With that said, I love my Land Rover and because I love it so much I can deal with the issues but it helps that my other two cars have none.

I'd pick a Land Cruiser over a Rover anyday of the week

I think japense manufacturing has some of the best quality control for any manufacturer. They constantly and at every stage do aggressive quality control, for other companies like Range ROver to do this, they would have to change their whole manufacturing process which would be lengthy and costly.

A lot of my problems have been electrical but Lexus even seems to avoid these. Truly amazing!

I wished I liked the exterior styling of the LX570 because that would be my first choice but I think it is so ugly on the outside. The interior is great though.

Ironically, most of the recent Lexus problems, outside of the dash squeaks/rattles on the ES350, HAVE been electrical related....primarily ECU control units for transmission shifts.
