Which is a good thing, because the 3-series is BMW bread-and-butter car in the U.S.
The 3, 5, and 7 are all recommended (and therefore above average) by Consumer Reports.

CR recommends cars in their "average" reliablity category (or better) as long as they do well in CR testing and Government crash tests. The 3-series, so far, is better than average in reliability....the only BMW model to do so, yet others, as you note, are recommended because they are average in reliability and meet CR's other criteria.

Ok guys heres an update on the car the 3 series was a bit of a boring drive and it was hard to use all the features in the car so i took it back friday and bought an 06 Acura TSX i should be happier with the Acura than the BMW and so far i am. Its a blue 6 speed and its pretty nice.

You could took it back for the reason of feeling boring? How nice the dealer was. I think only CarMax would do that hehe. Congrats again on your new TSX. I test drove an 04 a few years back and thought the interior was very nice, especially with Navi. My sister was on the verge of buying one but she pulled out and bought a 04 325i, a totally reversed situation of yours.

Congragulations on the TSX. The '06 TSX interior, especially in beige/wood (which was produced through 2008), IMO, is MUCH better then the new 2009 TSX interiors.

Wood is no longer offered on the 2009's, and the interior trim, *****/buttons, and hardware is generally of cheaper quality.

First time I've heard someone returning a 3-series for a TSX because it was boring

Congrats on the purchase. Post pictures if you can

The SX i got has the black leather with aluminum trim. The dealer had a 7 exchange policy so they were cool. I couldnt get my Lexus back but i chose a car id be happier with especially when it came time for repairs.
