Thanks again for the compliments. It's funny - this thread has generated like 5x more responses than my "here is my new S5" thread over on AudiWorld. Haha...
To respond to some of the posts:
shern, memasterac, reggiek: I think the stock 19's are pretty slick. They match the front grille/window trim/side mirrors very well, and I think they're a nice shape. On the other hand:
So... nuff said about the LM's.
mixman: I ordered April 29th and picked up on October 11th, so 5.5 month wait. However, a few dealerships are getting them faster now, probably because a. increased production, b. everyone just lost 1/2 their money in the stock market. I used Anchor Audi, and would be happy to pass on my salesman's name via PM. He was great and I highly recommend him.
kinglex: I definitely enjoyed my IS, but wouldn't consider myself an exclusive Lexus devotee. I got the IS because at the time (late '05) it was the best car in the segment. It had the most HP, fastest 0-60, among the best MPG, tons of features you just couldn't get at the time on any other car at anywhere near the price, or you would pay a TON extra for (backup camera, heated/cooled seats, Bluetooth, voice controls... Remember this was 3 years ago!)
This time around I wanted something a little sportier, 2 doors, and with AWD. Considered the 335xi, but they are so common around here, and I couldn't deal with the interior. Plus who am I kidding - I wanted a V8. If they made a 2-door AWD IS-F it would have been a strong contender, but as it is, 335xi was the only other car I strongly considered. An AWD M3 coupe would have been on the list too, and if I had a bit more cash, maybe a Bentley Continental GT (which is kind of the big brother of the S5 I think - 2-door 4-seater grand tourer, AWD, big ol' engine, made by VW group...).
coco-bun: Ya, the Tip model came out early this year - but the S5 was 6spd only at first. Also the S5 came out in the US before the A5, which is unusual.
I will certainly check back in periodically with updates - hopefully happy ones! Thanks for helping me feel good about my purchase (well, lease)

I got it for MSRP, which was a little under $60k. Lease is mid to high $900's, 36 months, 12k miles/yr, with 59% residual, including 8.375% NYC sales tax.
I think most places will give you MSRP on factory orders. Unclaimed in-stock S5's were getting $2k-$10k premium this summer, but I'm not sure about now. My friend was at the Manhattan Audi dealership and he saw a guy walk in, hand over a check for MSRP + $10k, and drive out in his new S5. My friend ended up paying $2k over at another dealership back in July.
