We have signs like that in Southern Indiana, but not around my house. Sounds like you had a punkass that thought he was cool for having blue lights. Some people are just tools, don't sweat about it. As for the idiot that pulled out in front of you, I'd have done the exact same thing. It's odd, I'm about the most patient person in the world, until I'm in my car, then EVERYONE pisses me off! Road rage? Maybe.

 

I've done exactly the same thing when I had my mustang. The cops came and kinda yelled at me trying to get me to admit it I just denied it and they "searched" around the car for other reasons to harass me. Gave up when they found nothing and let me be.

 

As everyone else said, the police can't do much unless you are caught. That's like saying a citizen has the right to prosecute you for ignoring/breaking traffic laws...they just dont have the authority to do so.

Most agressive drivers are idiots, just gotta laugh at them and go on.
