Where are the new Malibu's?
I've only seen 2 new Malibu's so far and I drive at least 65 miles everyday in a highly populated area.
It's been out for months now. :uh: I'm not a fan of the car but there's been so much hype over the fact that an American car is finally halfway decent. The rear end (especially taillights) are hideous in my opinion and I think it kills the potential of the car. Anyone else seeing these around? |
Being held back by perception.
|
I agree. I've probably only seen a few aswell, and +1 on hideous taillights and rear section.
|
I've seen maybe 10 in Atlanta, they are pretty damn huge. I like the styling in person.
Though last night, this chick was driving it like she was in Nascar, cutting in and out, no signals, trying to keep up and I wasn't even speeding....sigh..... |
I've seen 2 or 3. I see way more Accords.

That was a HOT-selling car, BTW, in the mid-late 60's when I grew up. I think two big reasons you don't see more Malibus on the road right now is, one, the dealerships just don't have that many of them yet (I had to scrouge a little to find the one I reviewed) and, two, the housing/mortgage crisis has affected so many people that new-car sales, in general, are down. It is also competing with its own brother Saturn Aura, which is virtually the same car as the Malibu, but, of course, at Saturn dealerships with better-than-Chevrolet customer sales/service. |
I've only seen one and it was parked by a dealership. I'm yet to actually see one driving on the road.

Thing is, this Malibu is suppose to play a major role in getting GM out of the red.
If this type of effort and investment doesn't pay off, GM is in trouble. And why is GM advertising it like nuts if they don't have that much available? |
I saw four new Malibus in 30 minutes of driving yesterday. I think it looks okay, very big.
|
I see them everyday, yet you have to remember I also cross 4-5 states per day as well. When it was unveiled, I was really excited about the new revised front end and interior. Got a look at the rear end,,, and game over,, didnt like it. GM really needs to fire their designers and stylist and get someone in there with some fresh aspects and styling cues and start to listen to the general public as well. They are killing off way too many of their cars that were selling well(ie. The Monte Carlo) and coming out with these oddly styled, hideously produced stuff. Chevy,,wake up and get a clue!!!!
|
I haven't seen many on the road either. In January GM sold 14,541 Malibus, so they're out there somewhere.
|
Yeah, looking at the sales, it's not doing bad. But I don't know where they are.
I'm one of those people that notices every car on the road in my vicinity. So if there around, I'd see it. I've only seen two and it was over a month ago. |
I see 1 or 2 everyday on the road -- at first I liked it, now - just another blah looking car.
