BMW Canada announces 2008 M3 pricing
The coupe and sedan, arriving at retailers on March 8, will debut with MSRPs of $71,300 and $69,900 respectively. The M3 cabriolet, at $81,900, will go on sale on May 17.
The fourth-generation M3 models share a light-alloy, high-revving V8 engine, producing 414 hp at 8,300 rpm and 295 lb-ft of torque at 3,900 rpm, with 85 per cent of maximum torque available consistently through 6,500 rpm. The power output represents a 17 per cent increase over the six-cylinder in the last-generation M3, but the new engine weighs seven per cent less and consumes eight per cent less fuel.
All M3 variants will be rear-wheel drive and feature a close-ratio, oil-cooled six-speed manual gearbox, or optional seven-speed Double-Clutch automated manual gearbox.

A loaded IS350 (nav/ML but not PCS) is $60,000 here (ditto a very well equipped 335i) so $10k more ain't bad in that perspective.
What's very interesting is how the IS-F in Canada will be priced. There is a big possiblity the IS-F will be priced lower than the M3.
Even 70K for the coupe/sedan is, IMO, absurd.I just reviewed a new 335i a couple of weeks ago and it was superb......IMO a far better dollar-for dollar value. At 40-50K (my tested car was 47K) it delivered a lot of what the M3 offers, and not only had a lot lower price but a more civilized chassis as well for daily driving......the M3 is superb on a track but is very hard-core for daily use on rough roads.
