2009 Mitsubishi Lancer Ralliart @ NAIAS

According to poster jmk2888 at the EvolutionM.net forums, the car you see here is indeed the 2009 Mitsubishi Lancer Ralliart. The poster, who indicates that he works for Mitsubishi in California, says that the car was in the lot briefly but is now "on the way to an auto show." Funny, we happen to be going to an auto show next week, so let's assume the Lancer Ralliart's on its way to Detroit for its official unveiling.

According to the jmk2888, here are the pertinent stats. To be safe, treat everything as speculation for now until we get official info from Mitsubishi:

* 230 - 240 turbocharged horsepower
* AWD
* 5-speed manual gearbox or Twin Clutch SST available
* Recaro front seats
* Gunmetal-finish Lancer GTS wheels
* GTS rear wing
* Nav system available

In front, the Ralliart gets a unique fascia dominated by a large (but not Evo X-large), chrome-rimmed grille opening. At the top right section of the grille itself, you can see the telltale Ralliart badge. According to the poster, the car in the photo is painted in the orangey-red "Sunset Pearlescent" finish that's currently available on the Eclipse. He also states that there's Ralliart branding on the rear of the car, and some other posters have noted that this car appears to be equipped with the same HID headlamps as the Evo X. Assuming it's going to be in Detroit, expect complete details and many photos of Mitsu's new Subaru WRX competitor early next week.

Nope. Not really...not if his/her name can't be tracked. And kudos to that person....I'm all for it. We need more people in the auto industry like this. :thumbup: The hush-hush buisness of not taking the bras and wrappers off until the major auto shows is complete nonsense....it is ridiculous and childish, and should have been abandoned long ago.

Yeah, they look the same to me ...

230-240ahwp seems low I thought the Ralliart would have been closer to the 300awhp mark.

Why? :uh: Then there would be no need to market the 295-300 HP Evo.

Oh ok so the Ralliart output is lower? Sorry for my ignorance guess I need to do more research on the new Evo's.

I think that would eat at EVO sales too much. The Ralliart edition is supposedly using almost everything the EVO is but without some of the electronic controls and lower power.

The front bumper is different by quite a bit, the unpainted middle splitter lacks the two rectangular holes, it has fogs instead of air inlets.
The spoiler is lower and different shaped.
But yea it doesn't look that much different.

I still have a major problem with the rearend of this Lancer. The front I could live with but still I think is ugly but the rear is just so.. boring and it looks like someone stuck tails from a different car onto it as if they didn't design the tails for this car.

Good eye, Koma. I didn't catch that the first time, with the sun glare in the first photo. And something else.....the Ralliart has a chrome ring around the grille and the Evo doesn't....neither of us caught that either.

Both grilles, BTW, are AWFUL. They manage to outdo even Audi.

so this is like a mid model b/t the base and Evo X? like the WRX is for the imprezza?
