Nice find; never knew that.

Did the Germans also invent bad wiring or did the Chinese get to that first? What came first, the broken VHS-player or a car catching fire from bad grounds?

I can't said it better myself. I totally agree with you there. My heart still goes to supra but I can't see myself paying 45K for a supra which is 13 years old when I can get a brand spanking new car with similar performance.

You just proved yourself wrong the, the Germans did give us the first modern automobile.

Although several other German engineers (including Gottlieb Daimler, Wilhelm Maybach, and Siegfried Marcus) were working on the problem at about the same time, Karl Benz is generally acknowledged as the inventor of the modern automobile.[5] In 1879 Benz was granted a patent for his first engine, designed in 1878. Many of his other inventions made the use of the internal combustion engine feasible for powering a vehicle and in 1896, Benz designed and patented the first internal combustion flat engine.
From your first wiki article (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Automobile)

Well just say they gave us what we now know as the first feasible internal combustion engine.

Nikolaus August Otto (June 10, 1832 Holzhausen an der Haide, Nassau - January 26, 1891 Cologne) was the German inventor of the first internal-combustion engine to efficiently burn fuel directly in a piston chamber. Although other internal combustion engines had been invented (e.g.The concept of four strokes is likely to have been around at the time of Otto's invention but he was the first to make it practical [1]

No I didn't. I used your quote exactly. You originally said "automobile". You didn't say "first modern automobile". I see you're backtracking on what you originally said.

Well just say they gave us what we now know as the first feasible internal combustion engine.

What they, the Germans, gave us was an innovation on what was already created, the "internal combustion engine". Similarly, I wouldn't credit the Germans for "inventing" the "diesel engine" or the "Wankel engine". But I would credit them for bringing innovations to the "internal combustion engine". Would you call anti-lock brakes an innovation or an invention?

A 45K supra done right would own most cars on the road new or old but it's all preference. The 335i is the new kid on the block right now, the supra potential seems to be unlimited.

I'm not going to argue semantics with you. You and I both know you are arguing over something completely frivolous.

Dr. Felix Wankel (a German) invented the Wankel engine (link), that is a fact. Dr. Rudolph Diesel (a German) invented the diesel engine (link), that is a fact.

I love both cars, but it has to be the BMW 335 for me. The interior of a car one of my top priorities. I can't seem to like the supra's interior.

I dont find myself needing anything over 400whp so the supra's potential is mute to me.

Even though I think the Supra is one of the most overrated cars of I'll time, I'd still take one over the 335. The 335 isn't as fast stock or modified, plus it doesn't look nearly as nice. It's not really close in my opinion

Sure the Supra has near "limitless" potential, along with the 335i (to a lesser extent) but I am not going to use between 800-1000hp from a 2JZ on a daily basis. The refinement of the 335i is fantastic IMO. The potential of the Supra is fantastic, I cant get over that. The Supra is a legend. The 335i is still maturing (damn fuel pump!). Toyota has reliability. BMW has its brand name (for the chicks) But when it comes down to it I seriously cant choose either one! But if the R34 came into the equation...
