335i Sedan or C350?
Can i get your opinions on a 335i Sedan vs. a C350?
Keep in mind I am looking for a daily driver & have the 911 for the weekends. Also, either car would be automatic. i want some unbiased opinions since the BMW & MB forums are obviously biased, can you guys help?
In my opinion:
335i:
Pros:
More fun to drive
More power
Free Maintenance
Cons:
Not as good looking inside & out (IMO)
Engine overheat concerns
$5K more when comparably equipped

how bout an IS350 with the mark levinson package.. i'd say when it comes to quality and comfort it beats both the C350 and the 335i... IMO
I used to work at mercedes and the new C350 isn't too comfy.. I have an IS250 ... the leather is more soft and the interior in general is just more comfortable.. and the navigation is flawless.. neither of the german bad boys have a touch screen navi thats easy to use... I hate using my moms E350 nav.. that thing sucks!

I like the new C-Class. I think it will cradle you better if it's a Daily Driver.
If it was for a Weekend Racer, the 3-Series would be a better choice, but that's not the case...

If you're using your 335i as a DD it isn't going to overheat. Besides, if you get sport you get the secondary oil cooler anyway. That said, for a dd I might actually consider the C350 - I am sure it has a more comfortable ride.

i voted for the 335i...
HOWEVER, considering you have a 911, maybe the 335i may be 'redundant'? in that case, the E350 may be the 'better' choice.
BUT i say 'better' with a grain of salt. since you've posted here, you definitely will be persuaded to get an IS350/IS250. the reliability factor is definitely on the lexus' side.

Anyway, I'd choose C350 as a dd, but I hate the new C class. I think the rear is ugly as hell, looks like a Civic SI to me. 335i is nice but not for daily driving IMO.
I drove both cars before I decided on the 335i. It wasn't even close. The C350 not only was FAR less engaging to drive - it was quite a bit slower, handled worse, and I think it even rode worse.
The only thing I can say that's nice about the C350 is I think the interior looks nicer... though I'm not sure the quality matches the looks - during my drive I noticed excess wind noise from the back windshield, and one of the locks on the back doors actually popped off and fell on the floor without me even touching it.
With that said - you do have a 911? If that were the case I think I'd go for a more comfortable all around second vehicle to supplement the 911. I think for a similar price to the 335i you could get a GS350.

Both cars would make excellent daily drivers imo. I purchased the 335 based on driving dynamics & styling. The Benz does look great for sure, but is just a slight step back in driving dynamics. I want the most fun during my NYC commute... The BQE & Grand Central Parkway are always jammed. Got to zip in and out of traffic to get from point A to point B quickly. Good luck with your choice
