looking at them more and more, II looks as more expensive car, while I looks more of Celica variation, where Toyota typical design language might be a bit too shy. This is 2012, we need cocky designs.

They better make it sharp... let the haters hate.

Reading the internet comments: "another bland Toyota".

lol.

Well, something is getting lost in the translation. I much prefer the previous concept. MUCH. I like the aggression... something lacking in most Toyotas. But the previous concept achieved that in a much cleaner, more organic way while this one is starting to look a bit, kit-tish.

they should've just kept working on the FT-HS some more.

The FT-86 I actually has a lot of cues from this concept and has always looked like a production ready version of the FT-HS to me. I know the FT-86 II is supposed to be another evolution of the form but they really got rid of the core design of the FT-HS... The only thing left is the front end really.

Agree. But I have noticed a bit change in Toyota's late designs that has become more and more agressive looking. Look at Sienna SE, very sporty looking front end. Toyota knows that they need to attract more younger customers so they would be Toyota loyalist even they age. Honda is going in an opposite direction imo, and I can't say that is a good thing. Honda used to make small fun to drive sporty looking compacts, but they have switched to the old Toyota way.

I wish the final production has the same name: FT86, it sounds great. By then every Japanese car maker has at least one sport car on hand. Toyota would have FT86, Nissan has GT-R and Z, Honda has CR-Z(I wish they give it a turbo non-hybrid version), Mazda would have new RX and MX-5, Mitsubishi has Evo, Subaru would have WRX/STI and new FT86's sibling. Lexus has LF-A and new F versions of GS and IS. hahahahhaha.

I know it's a concept but I think they're going in the wrong direction with this one. To me it looks like Nissan Z meets Acura TL meets Darth Vader. The previous FT86 concept was beautiful.

lines in real life are not that radical as in that photoshop:

It looks awesome... this is probably some sport pack version of it anyway with body kit. Point is - car looks a lot more expensive than 25k.

Default Toyota's concept car

I wish this would have some correlation to the third gen IS. Car looks sick

Lexus might bring it to its line up and IS would be a perfect fit. Just like Acura TSX. But Toyota needs to have "exciting" car to its line up.

I really like it and hope they don't change it too radically from this.

Ran into this pic:

For some reason I actually think it looks great and has great stance in this pic. Most of the tunerbits are too fuzzy so you can't really see them... and the side vent kind of fades away too. And from this angle the rear haunch looks particularly pronounced. Toyota, if you're gonna go this route, PLEASE make them hips round

From the II concept, I'm not a huge fan of the lights below the headlights (the arched ones). But the car would look weird with nothing there.

Also: needs less grill. A lot less. Somewhere between where it is now, and the 1SC
