They can always rename it to F4S

I think it is a bogus rumor also.

Default Scion FR-S Release Series 1.0 hits dealers with $29,990 MSRP

Exclusive Scion FR-S Release Series 1.0 Arrives at Dealerships Nationwide

Head-Turning, Motorsports-Inspired Series Available in Limited Quantities

September 08, 2014

TORRANCE, Calif. (Sept. 8, 2014) – The wait to own the first Scion FR-S limited edition release series is finally over. Scion fans and racing enthusiasts can now get behind the wheel of the FR-S Release Series 1.0, a modern homage to the sports coupe's racing roots. Revealed earlier this year at the New York International Auto Show, the FR-S Release Series 1.0 is now available at dealerships nationwide.

With just 1,500 Release Series 1.0 vehicles produced, FR-S enthusiasts must move fast to own the limited edition coupe. Striking with a coat of Yuzu exterior paint color, the Release Series 1.0 comes equipped with enhanced features from Toyota Racing Development (TRD), including TRD Quad Tip Exhaust System and TRD lowering springs. Other highlights are the custom-designed aero kit with a rear spoiler and side fender garnish. Highlighting its exclusivity, each vehicle contains its sequential release series badge (1 of 1500) inlayed on its brushed aluminum shifter surround plate.

"The Scion FR-S Release Series 1.0 is the ultimate tribute to motorsports history that not only has the looks for the track, but also brings that energy into the driver's seat," said Scion Vice President Doug Murtha.

Additional FR-S Release Series 1.0 features include:
TRD steering wheel
TRD shift ****
Black seats with T-pattern
HID headlamps with LED daytime running lights
TRD logo cargo mat
Smart Key with Push Button Start

A full walk-around video of the Scion FR-S Release Series 1.0 can be viewed on Scion's official YouTube channel.

The FR-S comes with either a six-speed manual transmission or a six-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters and Dynamic Rev Management® technology. The Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) is $29,990 with a manual transmission or $31,090 with an automatic transmission, excluding the delivery, processing and handling (DPH) fee of $770. That is one hot looking car, the bad thing is, if you look that aggressive, you better have 300 hp to back it up. With 200 hp, means it is a poser, all show, no go. The opposite of a sleeper

Ever since it's launch, I've never been fully on board with the triplets. Some days are better than others but overall they don't do much for me. Decent value, but with the MX-5 out now, I know if given the option where my money would go

With just 2 months to go until the 2014 SEMA Show in Las Vegas, our three Scion Tuner Challenge competitors are likely spending many sleepless nights as they work tirelessly to bring their ultimate tuner Scion FR-S Release Series 1.0 concepts to a reality. Thankfully, we managed to get Taro Koki of GT Channel, Sam Du of Super Street and Keith Charvonia of Speedhunters to take a break from the build to give us some insight into what they have planned.

Look at it this way, if you compare the FRS to the Tc, the FRS looks and drive 10 times better

I think it is hot, for what it is.

But it's going to be 400lb heavier than Miata with only 20hp more. New Miata will outrun the twins easily. They need to stop messing around and release turbo version already.

Stop trolling, Hoovey. You know GT86 and FR-S are basically the same car. :P BRZ at least has different front bumper and headlight. I'm a ft86club regular, we all call them twins.

Yes, trolling. It's not triplets. It's quadruplets. 86 (Japan), FR-S (U.S.), GT86 (else where), and BRZ.

Just saying it's in the thread title

And you're right technically it's four. I say scrap the Scion and gives us a Toyota version. Scrap the tC and make it a Corolla coupe. Scrap the xD and XB and make it a Matrix/Blade/Corolla hatch. Scrap Scion!

Scion tC ---> Toyota Zelas
Scion xD ---> Toyota ist
Scion xB ---> Toyota Corolla Rumion

It's already like that outside of U.S.

The latest report shows the new Miata will only have 130 hp, 70 hp less then the 86
