Lexus’ Future: Small SUV, IS coupe and convertible, 7-Seater crossover

And as for the LF-A, since when will it have an AWD system? This makes absolutely no sense as Lexus was supposed to be going for low weight and high performance. AWD makes no sense in the context of Toyota celebrating it's F1 presence. I frankly don't believe this rumour and I think the LF-A should, and will be RWD.

If the JX even does manage to come out I'd put some money on it not having the 4.7L truck motor - car-based SUVs almost always use car-derived motors... if the GS is offering the 3.5L V6 and 4.6L V8 at the time, then I'll bet that's what we see from the JX.
All of that is of course assuming we even see a JX...

Lexus is confident its cars will be perceived as luxury no matter how many units it sells as long as pricing remains above $30,000. The comments come as Lexus prepares to expand its lineup with even more models and battles internal concerns that too much volume may harm its luxury status.
To maintain the $30,000 and above price-point, Lexus will develop models based on its current lineup and introduce new high-end cars rather than launch new entry-level cars, reports Automotive News. The IS range will get the new high performance IS-F at the end of the year complete with a 425hp 5.0L V8 and Brembo brakes. This will be followed by a coupe and folding hard-top convertible in 2008 and 2009 respectively.
The ES will get a new hybrid option in ’09 as well as a facelift that same year. A new SC430 should arrive in time for the 2009 model year. The car will weigh significantly less than the current model and should get a larger and more powerful 4.6L V8. The car we’ve all been waiting for, the LF-1 supercar (based on the LF-A Concept) will hit showrooms in the first half of next year packing a 500hp V10.
Other major models in the pipeline include a new hybrid only car due in 2012, as well as a new seven-seater crossover planned or launch before the end of the decade.

The ES hybrid seems like a no-brainer to me. Camry Hybrid already selling well, gets great fuel economy. Plus they said they want every model in their range to be a hybrid, although that may be an exaggeration. But next to RX, ES is the second best selling Lexus. The RX 400h is doing pretty good, why not the ES 400h.

For a sports oriented car, I prefer a lighter non-convertible coupe over a hardtop convertible, it's always better to have that choice.

Hmm.. refresh in 2009? They're going for a 4 year cycle with the Camry/ES (similar to what they're doing with the Prius?). Yeah an ES Hybrid would be sweet... I kinda wanna see how the GR engines fair with hybridisation. It should be quite powerful and very fuel efficient.
