Default New Mazda6 teaser pic

Mazda has just released a teaser image of the new Mazda6 that will be officially unveiled next month in Frankfurt. The Mondeo-based sedan gets some freshly styled sheet metal that forms a familial resemblance to the recently released Mazda2, with a more sunken front fenders, accompanied by a less aggressive, dare we say, "cuter" front fascia that has a distinctly up-market shape.

Expect the dimensions to grow, along with displacement, with the new 6 likely packing the 3.5-liter V6 found in its platform sibling, the Mondeo.

We'll be on hand to bring you plenty of live coverage when the wraps are taken off in Frankfurt, but in the meantime, enjoy the teaser above.

Front end styling is very similar to Toyota/Lexus design cues.

Wow! Looks good. Looks like a true "futuristic" car, if you know what I mean...

Interesting.

Definately has an aggressive look to it.

Mondeo chassis? Isn't that a smaller chassis for the Mazda3?

Looks good, RX-8 fenders (funny the S-class is similar)..
I'm going to need either Acura or Mazda to give up the 5 point grill. The cars are nearly identical up front.

Default Saturn Sky anyone???

I see Saturn Sky all over it, they have a very similar look! Not a bad thing, I dig the Sky and I think this will be a winner......lets see what power it really brings...

Looks good. I heard from a Mazda employee the new 6 is going to be bigger to fit in the American market.

I always think the Mazda6 deserves to do a lot better than it is in the US market, but it's not big enough compared to competitors in the same class as a family car.

That's pretty sharp looking. I'm a fan of the current design + performance of the Mazdaspeed stuff, hope this one is tuned the same way.

Sadly the Mazdaspeed 6 was axed due to slow sales. You can get them for under 24k new. That is a SMOKING deal for such a capable car.

IMO, Mazda has a full and exciting brand right now, from cars to SUVs. They need better marketing, "Zoom Zoom" spells "Doom Doom"
