This is the same question as someone asking if Jessica Biel is hot.

Hotter than the regular Carrera due to the quad exhausts,
BUT IMHO GT3 and Turbo varieties are WAY hotter.
Then again, the Carrera S is "only" an 85K car whereas the top of the
line ones are much more expensive

The gt3 is not being made anymore, from what i hear. I hear that only 100 units are being brought to the us, for 2008. The waiting list is endless and dealers are asking a pretty penny since the demand. I like the porsche option financing, it seems to work out pretty good. There is a new powerplant coming out as well, a 3.8l.
The GT3 looks excellent although the wing is a bit too much for me.
Well the Turbo at least looks a bit 'too much' to me.

the turbo is crap to own...
my buddy raced two other ones a few nights ago down on the 405 and he got a flat tire.
waited an hour for roadside to show up. Roadside couldn't find the tire patch stuff (no spare tire). Then roadside couldn't replace the tire because the tires are massive and if you put a different size tire on, it screws up the LSD. They don't have turbo sized tires in the back of the roadside cayenne.
then we waited another hour for towing to show up. Then towing had a huge problem putting the car in the back. Had to use 4 planks of wood so that the front lip wouldn't get ripped to shreds. It still got popped off.
The car looks awesome, but it's a pain to own....

I think sometimes we get caught away by the special models. The "S" is more than enough car for most people and will beat pretty much anything in hands of a capable driver.
The GT3 and RS are track cars, very focused. They make less of a daily driver, you will scrap the front lip like no tomorrow for instance. The ride is harsher.
The Turbo is simply ridicuous with power and pretty much the everyday supercar, especially with the automatic. The power is ridiculous.
Porsche reliability is really good, the 911 is a well built car.

Where I live in Washington I get tons of thumbs up, appreciative and respectul nods, and kids slack jawed when I drive around in it. It seems like everyone and their mother drives around in Camry's and Accords, so yes the ocassional Porsche stands out like Jessica Alba in a room full Rosie Odonnel's. It's plenty fast for me and can easily get you thrown in jail. Plus they've been making them for over 50 years, so they're about as reliable as a wood burning stove.
