They did the silver boom-box look on the center dash more or less similiar to the Mitsubishi Endeavor.

The whole vehicle looks like it was designed to compete with the RAV4, CR-V, Tucson, Outlander, and Tribeca.

Not everyone wants a V6. And some may want the TDI option for mileage.

sure about TDI - but why would you want I4 turbo over V6 in SUV? Mazda proved that it doesnt work nearly as well.

Not so.

In my experience (although I'm not a speed freak) most turbo fours give you more of a kick in the rear than normally-aspirated sixes. It's hard to beat forced induction for throttle response, although with a turbo you usually have a small lag before it kicks in.

I got a dandy little taste of the difference between a turbo four and a non-turbo six a few weeks ago when I drove both the new Acura RDX with a turbo4 and the MDX with a non-turbo six. The RDX, with its turbo 4 (Honda's first U.S.-market version), felt MUCH stronger.

Except that Rav4 is faster and get better mpg than CX7 or RDX... right? When we are comparing apples to apples...

Can't comment on the V6 RAV4 yet. I haven't driven it....only read some reviews. I do know, though, that the RDX will get out of its own way....and, under the admittedly limited conditions I drove it, will smoke the MDX's larger, non-aspirated V6. Part of it, of course, is weight....the RDX is smaller and lighter than the MDX.

I wouldn't call the RDX an apple...it is more of a chili pepper.

The Touraeg is a rather unusual SUV...with a unibody design, it combines good capability off-road with civilized road manners on-pavement. Few SUV's can say that outside of the Range Rover and Lexus LX470 class.
