Sadly I did not win the battle to get the IS300 I wanted. 15k-18k for a used car with 60k didn't cut it for my parents. They rather pay more for a "new" car and get that "new car" smell. Anyway I was presented with couple options...2007 toyota prius or camry SE. I said I guess I would choose the Camry SE. I let my dad test drive the 4 cyl and the V6 camry to compare the power and he decided that the V6 would be the only one we'd get if we went camry. I decided though to let my parents check out the Acura dealership before we made any final decisions. I guess Acura doesn't really measure up to Lexus class and I know that for dang sure. It's still pretty good though. They both loved the TSX so tahts what I ended up getting. Today the deal went through...traded in the old car...for the new. 1999 4runner for 2007 TSX. Here are pictures showing both cars...
Definately though, will go back to Toyota/Lexus one day and get the IS300 I was searching for and an SC300 project car. Til that day comes I'll go back to the shadows. Thanks for the help from the IS300 owners in the IS forums. You guys helped shape some of my decisions in finding the IS300 that will remain elusive for now.
Hey, congrats man, the TSX is a gorgeous car inside and out, and it's interior is a lot better compared to IS300. I hope you've got one with manual and wood trim. I personally loved the TSX, but I didn't like the way it drives, its has a very harsh ride and not enough low end torque. But then if you were looking for an IS300, the harsh ride shouldn't bother you because IS300 is just as harsh, if not harsher. And low end torque, oh well, it's a Honda. At least you have decent high end, and high redline, so the high end range is pretty nice.
I think you got a great car. I'd choose a TSX over a 1G IS300 any day, especially a brand new compared to a used IS300. For a second I though you were talking about the new IS350. Heck, I'd choose a new TSX over a new IS250 as well. IS350 no contest though. Congratulations on your new car. I wouldn't be ashamed of it at all.
Thanks guys. There are a few perks that I like in the TSX over the IS300. The steering wheel controls, navi, bluetooth, and headsup display naming a few. I know that later on I'll be picking up an IS300 to satisfy the mod bug...later on meaning when I'm out of school in 3 years. TSX can be the DD and the IS300 can be the track monster
um....supercharge! I have a buddy that has a supercharged TSX with upgraded intake, header, and catback exhaust, that thing is a beast and it sure is quick! Gets you that low end that Honda engineers haven't figured out yet and helps you fly through the long powerband
tv4184 - congrats! TSX is very nice. Somehow I think after you've driven it for a few years you won't still be interested in then ANCIENT IS300s or SC300s.

I agree with you completely. TSXs lack power but boy are they fun to drive. The leather is a bit hard but I could live with it. TSXs are very good values.
wow, my V8 2nd gen GS gets at least 19. I got 30mpg once when I did all highway driving.
oh yeah, slap on some gold wheels . my friend has an Accord with gold wheels and its beautiful!
yes, my GS4 drives more miles per tank than my Sc3 now... and my GS is much much faster with mods!!!
Also, My friend's Sc4 get 320Miles full tank and my SC3 which is 5 yrs newer with less miles average 275!!!!
Can't explain...
