Congrats on the new ride! . The TSX is a terrific car. Handles well, good engine, looks sharp. First mod on my mind if I were in your shoes would be to swap out the wheels/tires for somethin nicer
Auto or manual? The latter is really the only way to go on that car.

Unfortunately it is an automatic since my parents can't drive a manual and think that its not practical in Houston b/c of traffic and...."stop signs". Like all cities don't have stop signs. 6 speed would have been nice though. Atleast it has touchscreen navi and bluetooth. I like the older gen wheels of the 04-05 TSX but I might pick up these in couple years. I'm not supposed to mod the TSX and I won't since its brand new.
I can understand disappointment at not getting exactly what you want, but you should realize (and it does seems that you do, to your credit) that most people will not feel very bad for you, given you just got a brand new Acura TSX. It's a great car, and you should feel very privileged and very thankful. You have generous parents.

PS Do not watch MTV's My Super Sweet Sixteen...
I'm not as disappointed as my post makes it seem. Last year I did contemplate on getting a used TSX but I never materialized the plans for getting a used car to replace my 4runner until this year. I think if Lexus still had the IS300 brand new I may have been able to get it. My parents just didn't want to get a used car that cost so much. I do however love the TSX and no I'm not like those kids from My Super Sweet Sixteen. I did put down my fair share of the down payment for the car. My parents are gonna help with the payments. Thanks everyone for the input though. I thought I'd get flamed for not ending up with the Lexus.

HAHA maybe from the 2fast2stupid generation guys... oh wait... they like hondas, nm.
Flame you for having a NEW tsx... nope, not even. No one does FF better than honda, and the euro spec accord? Way better than the more plebian accords. Now if you got a reg accord or even a *cough* civic... fire and brimstone will rain your head

Why would we flame you We have so many CL members and not all of us own ONLY Lexus cars. Most of us in Car Chat are car enthusiasts. We appreciate and recognize good cars, not just good Lexus cars.

That plays an important role. I'm all for constructive criticism when its based on sound logic. There's a good dose of that around here. Honestly, the TSX is probably the only Acura I'd buy. It's well-balanced and a terrific chassis. (No surprise that I see a lot of those here). The only loss is perhaps with the automatic, I think it overrides manual commands and does premature upshifts in 1st gear.
