Audi will unveil a brand new concept car at the 26th Wörthersee tuner show starting today in Austria. This is the first time that Audi will officially be represented at the show, which is expected to attract more than 200,000 visitors over the next four days. Show goers will be treated with the first glimpse of the new Audi TT clubsport quattro, a concept study based on the TT Roadster.
Designed as a hardcore version of the Audi TT, the car uses the Porsche 356 Speedster as inspiration for its design. The concept has no top, no A-column, and no rear view mirrors, instead relying on a small windshield and side mirrors that have the turn indicators embedded within. Also new is the front end, now with a grille large enough to suck wild animals into the engine bay.
Under the hood lies a beefed up version of the 2.0 TFSI engine found in the S3, now developing 300hp with the help of a larger turbo. Audi’s S-tronic dual-clutch transmission handles shifting duties, while the brakes have been upgraded to carbon ceramic units. The new wheels measure 20in diameter and are made of light alloy to help keep weight down.
Audi will also display its race-prepped A3, which will be on the grid at the next 24-hour race at the Nürburgring. The mid-engined R8 sports car, the RS 4 Cabriolet and the brand-new S5 will round off the contingent of sporty Audi models.
