I've noticed that NOBODY on the internet likes Bose. It seems like every time the name Bose is mentioned not one person has anything good to say about them. Why is Bose so lowly regarded? My dad has a Bose system in his Maxima, and I thought it sounded good, at least as good (if not better) as the Nakamichi in my GS400

no highs no lows

i mean, if they have that much money to put into ads, they should put it into R/D. Do you see a McIntosh ad on Newsweek or TV?? but that suspension thing they developed is pretty darn cool i must say. |

It's safe to say the Bose system in the Ferrari is of much higher quality than those found in Nissans. I wouldn't knock it until hearing it. Even a sorry brand makes a good product now and then. Personally I think the knock on Bose is more the fact that they're overpriced and over marketed rather than the sound quality. They're not the best, but make a half decent product by most people's ears.
As for the Maxima's Bose being better than the Nak in the GS400... you must have some blown speakers or bad source CDs thetopdog. |

I generally do not like BOSE, but I do find the 5.1 BOSE in the TL and RL to be right up there with some of the best OEM car systems. Maybe not as good over all as the ML in the GS/LS, but better than everything else out there.

Bose makes different systems for different cars and many are really cheap and crappy. My uncle had a Bose system in his Pontiac Grand Prix that sounded like utter crap and had numerous problems and it was definitely not the same system or even in the same league as the one in the TL and CL which sounds pretty good, especially for a stock system. I am sure GM just asked them for a really cheap system because they did not want to pay for any high quality expensive system but wanted something with the Bose name on it to offer to its customers. I know that Bose speakers are overpriced and overated but they are not worthless complete utter peices of cheap junk like many say they are, there are just better and often less expensive alternatives that sound and perform much better. Some of the older larger Bose speakers were highly rated and sounded very good compared to the competition. I know some people with Bose systems and they are happy with them but there are better less expensive alternatives now. I am sure Bose has the know how to design and make a very good sounding high end system to put in a new Ferrari and won't just stick some cheap peice of junk like they do on many GM cars. |
