The Lexus GS400 could be had with 16 or 17" rims with tires and the diameters were different by at least a couple of percent if I recall correctly. I don't believe there's any 'adjustment' that can be made to keep the odometer accurate in both cases. So one of them was off. Maybe the put the odometer in the 'middle' so with one rim/tire it was over and the other it was under, but not perfect for at least one of the setups.

Seems to me this complaint is more about lawyers making money than a real issue.
