Default Different gas company, different performance?

For the past year and and a half, I've been filling up my tank with Shell's 91 octane. Today, however, my gas tank was almost empty (15miles left) and I decided to fill it up with 76's 91 octane. My question is... do companies with their different technique of making gasoline for our cars mean different performance? Here in my area I see 76, Mobil, Shell, Chevron, and the no brand but those are out of the question.

Wink Top Tier Gas

I think gasoline is like shampoo - u should probably switch brands once & in a while just get rid of build up so to speak.

Several top brands, including Toyota & Honda, created Top Tier Gasoline as their recommendations:

When I get the chance in the U.S., Chevron for regular driving, Sunoco for the track.
