Wow, you must have really good eyes. Sometimes I can't even tell what's the brand of the car from a mile away.

Wow, are you one of those guys that can tell fake watches from 20 feet away too?

I had leather, not leatherette, on my past BMW, it was the best leather I have had in a car yet.

So far I had my seats replaced in the IS because of ripples in the leather. Never had a problem with the BMW.

I don't like real leather. The leather on my IS350 looks so beat up. I wish they offer IS with more expensive fabric.

What's so funny about all this bickering is that so few people realize that even "real" leather in cars these days has a thick layer of vinyl top coating on top of it. So you aren't even touching real leather - you're still touching vinyl either way... it's just with leatherette, the 'backing' behind the vinyl top coat is more vinyl and woven fabrics, whereas with real leather there's leather underneath. What difference does it make? It makes a difference in smell (pro: leather), pliability (pro: usually leather when new, usually pro: leatherette when older), and durability (pro: almost always leatherette).

An exception to this rule is aniline and semi aniline leather such as is optional in the LS (or at least it was in the 430... dunno about now)... with those you are actually sitting on dyed real leather, but you really better plan on taking care of that stuff!

it's just a technicality. you'll never find one in the US with cloth seats.

You can still order one, and that's standard equipment, which is a fact.

What that person mention about all Lexus has leather as standard is wrong, period.

they call it an option, but they send everyone in leather no matter what.

I challenge you to show me one pic of a US RX330 or RX350 with cloth seats.

Really? I sat in one and it sure felt like cloth to me. Not that there is anything wrong with cloth or leatherette for that matter. My buddy specifically wanted cloth for his IS because it holds him much better than leather when he dances around the cones (auto-x).

There is nothing wrong with either cloth, leatherettes or leather... it is a preference. People can chose what they want their A$$ to sit on.

The issue is not about if there's such a car or not. The issue is the poster claimed that leather is standard but in fact it's not according to Lexus website. If the customer wants fabric he can still custom order one with fabric and doesn't have to pay for the price of leather and the associate option package, even though he may have to pay a larger amount of deposit up front. Which part of this logic you don't understand?

if you have to custom order one with fabric, then isn't it more of an option than standard equipment?

is that logical enough for you to understand?

No, Lexus U.S. adds the leather option. So you would be ordering a car without the option.

If it is cheaper, than you do not have the option. If it costs more, than you have the option.

Lexus velour seats are actually pretty nice. I sat in a buddy's GS3 with velour and it's better than your average Toyota fabric seats that you find in Camrys. It grips plenty and it feels more comfortable than my leather seat

No, you are still wrong.

As other posters who did read the Lexus webpage pointed out, Lexus stated that leather is "optional". Just because "all" Lexus dealers order their cars for sell on the lot have optional leather seats doesn't make leather "standard" all of a sudden. Understand?

To make it easier for you to get it, you did pay extra for the leather which is bundled with other additional/optional items in a package.

^I get it. my point is, show me one pic of a RX350 in cloth in US.

it's more like cloth is a free custom order option, how's that?
