Default Ford Shelby GR-1 @ Cars and Coffee Meet

During the weekly Cars and Coffee Meet at the Ford Design Center in Irvine, Ford stunned the crowd by rolling out the Shelby GR-1 from their lobby, revving it up throughout the meet. Here are some pics that I took:

The Shelby looks like a 350Z with an elongated nose from that front/side shot. Don't care much for the "50 Cent" paint job. Maybe if it was a different color. Also, the car needs to be lowered a bit more. It sits really high on those fat sidewall tires. I love the Ford GT. Great paint scheme to pay tribute to the original. Too bad the mark-up on those things are pretty hefty. The Carrera GT is damn sexy. I had the opportunity to drive one. Not very far, but still... I drove one. I will never forget the sound when I revved that V10 up and how thick but light the door was thanks to all that carbon fiber.

Nice pictures. Thanks!

this still amazes that me that there are THAT many rich people in OC that spend that kind of money on cars.

where is this Ford Design Center?

I'm close enough to drop by on a Saturday morning..

never made it out to Crystal Cove before they closed up shop and moved to somewhere else, but I didn't know they moved to the Design Center.

The guy sitting in the GR1 looks extremely uncomfortable.
