Default help contesting front plate ticket

So I was at UCLA last night for a meeting, and when I got back to my car I noticed I was ticketed for not having a front plate. I knew some day I would get caught for it, but I always imagined I would get pulled over for it instead. Anyway, I was hoping for some advice on how to appeal this ticket.

Do I:
1. say the dealer is out of the correct bolts/screws/whatever to mount the front plate on, so I've been waiting for them to call
2. say my front plate was stolen (but if they ask for proof, there gonna see that there aren't any holes in my front bumper, so I don't think this one will work)
3. go have my front plates put on, and say the officer must have been hallucinating

any suggestions are appreciated.

Ever think about paying the ticket and mount the front license plate?

Double sided tape is your friend.

It should be a $10 ticket if you get it fixed... You should ask the court what you can do to reduce the fine. If you fix it, and show the judge, it usually goes down to 10 bucks.

Maybe I should clarify... It's not a fix-it ticket. Of course, I'm still thinking about getting the plate put on just to be safe from here on out, but I'm looking for a way to possibly get out of this $60 fine.

Why fight it? Is it worth being tied up in traffic court for hours over $60? Pay the fine, trust me the judge has heard all the stories.

I think it's safe to say that it's a campus police ticket since it says UCLA all over the ticket... Wow, campus cops at UCLA are bored

hmm... how is it NOT a fix-it ticket? what else can they say? if i ever got one, i'd use double-sided tape, get it paid and signed off then take it off again. i think it looks absolutely horrible w/the front plate on. please give us more info.

but in the end, just pay and let it go. save you time and trouble.

Serves you right - that's what you get for parking a nice Lexus at ucla (hehe). Seriously, not sure why it's not a fix-it ticket and why it costs $60 ??? Was this campus cops or westwood police ? I got a no-front plate ticket in downtown LA by a meter maid, I took a picture of the car with the front plate on, mailed it in with a $10 check and the fix-it ticket was dismissed (original citation was $25). Either way you have to pay the fine, no way you can talk yourself outta of front plate ticket if you had your rear plate on . . .

I think it was campus police. I guess since it's not a fix-it ticket, the up side is that I can just pay the fine but I don't have to put my front plates on

If you don't go to UCLA then don't pay the ticket... They can't do anything to you if you are not a student/faculty/etc...

How about just pay the ticket because it is the right thing to do? Sure, there are many ways to get out of things, but you know no front plates are illegal so just pay the ticket. It is not like it is a bogus ticket.
