The text of the magazine article has appeared here...purely speculative, not much extra though it does suggest the L650h will be built on the LS platform...

I also agree Toyota can do it. Toyota has the Century Royal which costs $450,000 and can compare to the likes of the Rolls Royce Phantom. But just like the Volkswagon Phaeton no one will purchase a $450,000 Toyota. Toyota would have to badge the Century Royal as a Lexus or create a new entire line of just ultra-luxurious cars.

Would be interesting to see Lexus competing with Bentley and Maybach. I read by 2009 Maybach will have a smaller version on the road which will be 5.1 meters long. Samething with Rolls Royce, a slightly shorter version of the Phantom.
Thing is the Maybach 51 is priced abour $225,000 - $250,000 USD. Not sure about the Rolls Royce. Bentley Continental Flying Spur for sure in the $150k+ area anyways.
Lexus has a long ways to go to compete but hey, I support them 110%

One thing wouldnt it be competiting against the Aston Martin Rapide, Porsche Panamera (?sp) and Maserati Quatroporte (?Sp) also? Seeing those are high end luxury sedans. True, two of the 3 are not out yet so we dont know which features will be in it. Especially the Porsche Panamera (?sp) nothing really coming out from Porsche.

Lexus L600 V12 Supersedan?
Do you think the L600 V12 Supersedan will come true?
It definitely uses the Toyota Century V12 Engines~
It is just the "Lexus Maybach"~
Price est. about $40 million yen, which about 340k...
See also the IS500, TS350 & IS-CV...
