What is better?

A Lexus LX or Mercedes-Benz GL?

Thanks

I think that the new mercedes GL looks really plain, but i'll take it if they gave it to me, them i would sell it for something i would really appriciate. But i like the look og the LX, even though its really old, it still has a clean look to it, expecially the 03 model year models. I would personally take a LX over a GL, nothing has to do with its a Lexus, but I think the LX is simply a more graceful looking SUV

I would never buy a first year model from Mercedes. Maybe not even a second...I don't know. I saw the GL in person at the Autoshow this week and it really looks like a Toyota Highlander on steroids with some ML styling cues. Not a bad looking SUV inside or out, but I would take the LX because it's bulletproof, looks great, still drives beautifully for an SUV of its size, has enough power for me, and is bigger.

that's my true view.

the new Merc GL isn't very pretty, it has no heritage, it's just another mercedes niche filler for the 7 seater SUV.

the LX is based on the land cruiser, which by all means is quite a legendary vehicle.

the GL is a "Replacement" filler for the G-wagen....but doesn't really cut it.

not to mention that it's a first-year production vehicle made in the US ( is it?)

i'd sacrifice first year reliability for a CLS....but not a niche filling 7 seater ugly SUV.

I would take a Lexus LX over the GL. The LX maybe much older but the interior and exterior still looks good for it's age in my opinion. The GL doesn't have that classy look of the LX, G-Wagon, or the Range Rover have in my opinion. It looks too much like a Montero, Highlander, and Commander blended together.

I also would try a new Range. IMO, if it ain't the G wagon, avoid Benz SUVs like the plauge. The GL too, looks like a HIghlander or Pilot. Where the hell is the classic German styling?

Even though the LX is now old, the new GL does nothing for me.

If I were to chose between the two, I would go with the Benz GL. The LX is so outdated you can't tell a new one from a used one. The GL I believe is based on the new Jeep Commander which is a very good truck so far. I personally love the new Range Rover Sport, but it seems that you are looking for a large luxury SUV.

booo!!! traitor!!!

kiddin kiddin kiddin

i think its pretty easy to tell a newer LX from an older LX from the grill, to the front bumper and rear end, as the LX got older, the look got more sophicated
