Also, if you read a few posts prior to yours, 2007 ISs will have a VDIM/VSC defeat button just like your precious Bimmer

I'm glad to see that they listened to the reviewers and are putting in the defeat button now work on getting the people a 6 speed manual and then Lexus can dominate the world...that is what you want isnt it? everyone to drive a Lexus? Personally i like a little variety...keeps all the car makers on their toes and not complacent
very nice jimmy, so, how fast is the car?
the fenders are very nice, with some nice wheels it's going to look sick. seems like they got some big rotors underneath as well
not sure about the rear still though

This has been discussed ad-naseum; in terms of objective handling, the 2IS and 3 Series are close, the main limiting factor for the 2IS is VDIM, and the 2007 IS will have a VSC/VDIM defeat switch.
But either way, would you say Lexus wants the 2IS to compete with the 3 series?
What most reviews and people complain about is handling FEEL, and that too should be improved with all of the IS's electronic nannies disabled.

Not *everyone* likes the "feel" of a BMW, myself included. I tend to prefer a feel that's in between say a typical Lexus and a typical BMW, and it looks like Lexus is getting sportier and heading in that direction of offering the exact feel that I want.

Feel is more than just power being robbed by worried lawyers.
Yes, Lexus does want the IS to compete with the 3 Series, since they are obviously in the same segment, BUT, Lexus wants to compete in their OWN way. They do not want to mimic or copy the 3 Series, they want to compete the Lexus way, and let the IS be it's own car, not a copycat.
Read what I said about VDIM. If you understand what VDIM is and how it works, you will realize it *does* affect the feel in the IS350, because it's different than most other electronic nannies.
