thats not regular foam...its "great stuff"...used to prevent water leaks in areas of houses and stuff like that, great substituion for dynamat (so i've heard)

as far as i know its pretty durable stuff and not easily broken, besides a good bondo finish on it and i dont see y it wouldn't stand up for a decent period of time
