Default Wonder if Brabus has tuned this yet?

So I was driving on the interstate yesterday, and when in the passing lane I saw this bad boy with a "Power by Mercedes-Benz" badge on it. So i'm REAL bored today and I go to the website just to look around, not knowing that benz was still in the US truck market..... and I stumbled on this page

So let me get this right, Mercedes makes SMG/F1 transmissions for its semis, but not any of its cars!!!!! WTF! If that thing can handle the 1-2,000 lb/ft of torque that the semi has, why not the "measely" 6-700 in the McLaren SLR! But then again i'm not an engineer and their must be some good reason. Just thought it was interesting to see mercedes at the top of their game in other markets as well.

That's pretty slick, yea the SLR deserves either a manual or SMG.

That is pretty cool. That sure beats double clutching. I'll bet that transmission weighs as much as the SLR McLaren though... I'll bet that tranny has 20-30 gears too. Probably a bit more than the McMerc needs.

FYI, a lot of truckers change gears without using the clutch. They get to know what RPM and speed will allow them to just pull the leaver between gears without having to clutch.

Very true... but for some reason MB is stuck on this thing about not making manuals. And when they do, they make them so damn hard to find. Manual C-Class are about impossible to find around here!

I'll bet if you take it to Brabus they would have a go at it, LOL.
